Sears Road 2009 Syrah
The Hawke's Bay grape growing region is situated on the east coast of New Zealand and is bounded in the west by the Kaweka mountain range and in the east by the Pacific Ocean.
Hawke's Bay, is loved for its sunny climate, fabulous beaches, sheltered coastal plains and long-established vineyards.

A stylish and gently flavoured Syrah displaying red/dark cherry, game and subtle black pepper characters on the nose. It's well fruited and rounded on the palate showing smooth texture, well harmonised acidity and polished tannins.
A beautifully balanced wine with plenty of mouth-pleasing flavours.
Crushing / Pressing: Hand picked, crushed de-stemmed into tank.
Fermentation: Inoculated for ferment in tank with selected Rhone yeast. Ferment peaked at 28°. Fermentation lasted 2 weeks. Following ferment the wine was left on skins for up to 2 week then was pressed.
Barrel Handling: The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was matured in a combination of tank on oak chips for 4 months and old barrels.
Finning: The wine was palate fined with Egg white.
Filtration: The wine was filtered off egg white and bottled
